Ensure that you have an up to date Fire risk assessment report which can be reviewed by a competent person Ensure that all fire safety equipment is regularly checked and maintained and logged Ensure all fire escape routes are kept clear/have correct signage/have correct exit doors and locks Ensure that any staff (where applicable) are regularly trained in basic fire safety/that visitors are informed Ensure that areas of fire risk developing are suitably contained and there are no breaches
This is not an exhaustive list, any Fire Risk Assessment should be based around the Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 79 methodology, this gives a nine-step structured approach and corresponding documentation, for carrying out and documenting significant findings of Fire Risk Assessments in buildings. Our reports follow this structured approach to help ensure that our assessors cover all the relevant areas, when carrying out a Fire Risk Assessment.
